Banded Raw Edge V-Belt
A banded raw edge V-belt, also known as a cogged V-belt, is a type of power transmission belt used in machinery to transfer power from one rotating shaft to another. It's called "raw edge" because the sides of the belt are not coated or covered, exposing the raw edges of the belt material. The term "banded" refers to the multiple bands or layers that are incorporated into the belt's design.
What Is A V-Belt?
A v-belt ls is a flexible and efficient power transmission device capable of transferring from one shaft to another, it is known for its shape that securely into the sheaves of the shaft. The unique shape of v belts helps them fit tightly and snugly into the grooves of the sheave, giving them additional surface contact and increased stability.
When there is belt tension, vertical forces perpendicular to the top of the belt push its links against the grooves of the sheave. As the forces increase, the thebeltwedges tightly into the sheave grooves, which increases the friction between the surfaces of the belt and the sheave walls, the ever-growing connection allows a higher torque to be transmitted, while the increased friction minimizes the loss of power through slippage.

Compared to multi-stripping, vibration, loss of tension, and overturning of the belt are suppressed, and its service life is improved.

The cords are twisted in various configurations to match the load application and pre-stretched before belt assembly for length stabilization and minimum stretch during use
D. Compression Rubber:
The compression rubber provides support for the load-carrying tensile cords while dissipating heat generated from belt use. It is formulated to be resistant to flex cracking and compression fatigue.
